Behnam Sadeghi

CSIRO Mineral Resources

Dr. Behnam Sadeghi is a Geoscientist at CSIRO Mineral Resources in Perth, Australia, where he leads and contributes to projects on critical minerals, energy transition, mineral exploration, geomodelling, and advanced geodata science. He earned his PhD in Geosciences from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, and brings over 15 years of international industry and academic experience. Dr. Sadeghi serves as Associate Editor for Ore Geology Reviews and Geochemistry and is a member of the editorial boards of Discover Minerals, Earth Science Informatics, and Applied Computing and Geosciences. A former Fulbright Scholar at Carnegie Institution for Science in Washington, D.C., he is the author of Fractals and Multifractals in the Geosciences (Elsevier, 2024) and has published extensively through journal articles, book chapters, conference presentations, and invited keynote lectures. His achievements have been recognized with international honors, including the Andrei Borisovich Vistelius Research Award (2023) from the International Association for Mathematical Geosciences. His research is globally regarded for integrating data analytics, geostatistics, mathematical geosciences, machine learning, and AI with geoscience expertise to advance data-driven decision-making in mineral exploration and sustainable resource management.
